ABOUT US:
Formed out of Family Service of Glencoe’s (FSG's) desire to meet the evolving needs of Glencoe's parent community, Glencoe Parent Connection (GPC) is a parent-powered group that enables FSG to support parents through the challenges of raising families in a complex world. GPC connects parents with parents, schools and resources to help us raise emotionally healthy kids within a supportive community. Facilitated by Family Service of Glencoe’s Al Ross, and with ongoing financial support from FSG, GPC strives to:
Build a community of parents who learn with and from each other.
Collaboration between school and home.
Connect parents with local resources and community organizations that support families and promote children’s health and safety.
The GPC’s We Need to Talk discussion series brings parents together to learn from each other as well as from experts. Some discussions center on grades where Glencoe kids make a significant transition (e.g., switching schools, taking on new academic and social demands), while others evolve from “hot topics” in our community. Upcoming discussions include:

“Our youth are only as safe and healthy as their community. What's a healthy community? In part, it's one where adults come together, again and again, for conversations on issues that matter for kids and families." Al Ross, LCSW, FSG Counselor
