MEMORY SCREENING, DEMENTIA CONSULTATION & SUPPORT.
We are honored to announce our recertification as a Memory Screening Site, which allows us to continue supporting our Dementia Friendly Initiative. As a part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) program, this certification strengthens Family Service of Glencoe's role as a community health resource.
We will continue to support early detection and provide free, non-invasive memory wellness checks. Offering a safe and welcoming space for medical evaluation, FSG can help encourage proactive wellness by inspiring community members to take charge of their cognitive health.
In addition to screening and consultation, FSG Social Workers support individuals, families, and caregivers in navigating a dementia diagnosis.
CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
A collaboration between Family Service of Glencoe and Guardian Home Health Care, this Dementia Caregiver Support Group offers a supportive and confidential space where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and find emotional support with others who are facing similar challenges.
What to Expect:
A welcoming, understanding environment for caregivers to share their journey
Resources and guidance for navigating the complexities of caregiving
A chance to meet others who truly understand your experience
Facilitators: Emily Mysel, LCSW, Family Service of Glencoe and Judy Altman, LCSW, Guardian Home Health Care.
This group is free and open to anyone providing care for a loved one with dementia.

GLENCOE CARES PACKET
In partnership with Glencoe Public Safety, the Glencoe Cares program helps provide Glencoe seniors with additional support when receiving emergency assistance.
Opportunities for Training or Presentations
FSG has been fortunate enough to work with many partners in the community to provide education on dementia. These trainings also provide the opportunity to openly discuss challenges and brainstorm creative ways to establish more inclusive and safer environments for individuals living with this disease.
