Demystifying the Protective Order Process

Join FSG for a community lunch and learn focused on understanding the protective order process in Illinois through a trauma-informed lens. This presentation will provide an overview of the different types of protective orders available in Illinois, who may qualify, and what the court petition process generally involves. We will also discuss common emotional and practical challenges survivors may face when navigating legal systems, as well as ways family members, friends, and community supports can respond compassionately and effectively. This presentation is educational in nature and intended to increase awareness, understanding, and supportive community response.
